To kick the tires on the first two utilities, download the installer here. The main PowerToys service runs when Windows starts and a user logs in. You can right click the tray icon to quit the Power Toys service.

You can already reposition windows into different areas of the screen in order to multitask, but it can still be a challenge to manipulate Windows 10 in just the right way. Enable FancyZones in the PowerToys Settings screen, and it can help you set up a specific screen layout ahead of time. Then all you need to do is pop windows into predefined zones.
Windows 10 offers a variety of keyboard shortcuts that you can use in combination with the Win key. For instance, Win + E opens File Explorer, Win + I opens Settings, and Win + M minimizes all open windows. But how do you remember all these shortcuts?

FancyZones, one of the two newly released PowerToys, is a window manager that enables you to set up elaborate window layouts and easily move windows into those layouts, while also having the choice to restore the layout if any of the windows get moved around.
"Fancy Zones allows the user to define a set of window locations for a desktop that are drag targets for windows," adds Microsoft. "When the user drags a window into a zone, the windows is resized and repositioned to fill that zone."

PowerToys for Windows XP was the second version of the PowerToys set and brought major changes from the Windows 95 version. The tools in this set were available as separate downloads rather than in a single package.
That can be useful when you are working with multiple apps and windows simultaneously. The FancyZones tool is quite useful for bloggers like me who are write as well as research at the same time, traders who have multiple windows open, and so on.
The below steps and screenshot show how to add a PowerToys (Example) Group policy to Active Directory. You can download the latest build and version of ADMX Templates from the following.

Microsoft has brought back a blast from the past. A set of tools we had back in the windows 95 days that allowed us to add additional features and cool utilities to our Windows. And now with Windows 10 we can do that again. Let me introduce you to the Windows 10 PowerToys!
Once PowerToysSetup.msi is downloaded, double-click to install it like any other program. There are options about where to install it, create a desktop shortcut, and run when Windows starts. The default options should be good for most people.
1. If you first use PowerToys, you need to download and install this software. Go to this website and click PowerToysSetup-XXXX-x64.exe to download this tool. The current version is V0.49.1.
1. After installing PowerToys, you should launch it to make your Windows 11 PC never go to sleep. Click the search box, type powertoys, and click it to open it. Or you can right-click on it to choose Run as administrator. Then, the settings window of PowerToys will open.
For instance, if you specifically like having your text editor on the right, a documentation window on the bottom left, and a browser showing your live server on the top left, you can set up a FancyZone with that layout and drag your programs into the correct zones. Once you have an initial zone layout, you can cycle windows between areas in the zone, or even cycle between different layouts with just a few buttons.
You can download the entire Power Toys package from install them selectively. (If this link becomesunavailable for whatever reason, the Power Toys package will alwaysbe available at ) Power Toys for Windows XP comes with the followingtools:
A few months ago I was making the transition from using one monitor day-to-day to two, in an effort to stop myself from maximizing and minimizing Slack and Twitter every 30 seconds. At the end of the work day I wanted to be able to close those extra browser windows and shut off my secondary monitor, and then get them back in the same exact window sizes and positions the next day. That's simple if you want to split the screen into even halves or quadrants, but for more unique shapes you're shit out of luck if you're on Windows 10. Windows 11 has the very convenient Snap Layouts feature, but surely there should be a way for me to tailor my screen layout exactly how I wanted it, right?
There are a few FancyZones features I haven't used, like the option to turn multiple monitors into one big, continuous zone, or resizing windows as you edit a zone layout, or excluding some programs from FancyZones so you don't accidentally snap them. I don't have much use for most of FancyZone's features, but I appreciate they're there for people with more demanding zone needs than mine. Most of the features in PowerToys feel that way: they add a really useful function, and then also planned for five "but can it do this?" use cases people might have.
So if you're the type to always have a messy pile of windows open, give FancyZones a shot by downloading PowerToys (opens in new tab). It's now my favorite Windows feature, though 50% of the reason for that might be that the name makes me laugh. There's just something fancy about software from a trillion-dollar company using the word "Fancy" that's funny, right? Cats get Fancy Feast, I get FancyZones. 2ff7e9595c
